Living Room/Dining room Renovations...

We bought this hobby farm 8 months ago and we've been working diligently on making it feel more like home.  There are many changes we need to make inside and out....pretty much everything needs a good fixing up!  So I'll take you through our house projects one at a time.  We've come a long way in 8 months and it's been fun to see the progress.  Today we'll look at the living room.
Here are some BEFORE pictures of the open living room/dining room.

So the living room had that old blue carpet too and I didn't get a picture before we ripped it up.  That was in the living room, dining room, up the stairs and up in the loft.  It was pretty much everywhere.

Here is an AFTER picture of the living room.  We did replace the cream colored couch with a new light grey couch.  I took this picture in the summer time, so we didn't have that yet.  This carpet was the first thing to go in.  I LOVE it!  It's so thick and comfortable.  We also painted that back wood wall a cream color to lighten things up and a light grey on the other walls.  Mark worked hard on ripping up that tile in the dining room, so we could have a smooth flow of wood floors throughout.  We left the tile wall up and that will GO this week!  Yea!  (we'll just put up regular drywall to make it flow with the rest of the wall)  We sold the old oven, because it was just taking up too much space.

Here is a picture of the dining room area.  We changed out the light/fan fixture and put a smaller one.  You can see the tile wall is still up....that will go this week!  I can't WAIT!  Those old lockers will go in the basement too and we'll replace that with something nicer. ;)

Here is a picture of the front door that is just off the living room.We put in the wood floors and carpet and painted the walls the light grey.  Soon....we'll be replacing all the doors....interior and exterior.  I do love the screen door though.  That will stay, but be painted a different color. ;)

So that's about it for the living room/dining room area.  We're actually going to be re-doing the kitchen in the next couple weeks!  That will be one of our last projects for the main floor.  I'll show you some of the other projects in the house over the next few days!
Have a happy Monday!
xoxo
Betsy
